Every second month I receive a parcel from a site called knitcrate and in this little red parcel is some yarn, a pattern, a lovely treat and a little extra. I have been receiving the beginners/intermediate one but recently changed it to the indie pack.
In the March pack I received some lovely navy blue wool and one of the options for a pattern was a hat and cowl set. So far I have made the cowl and not sure though if I will make the hat up.. It doesn’t really get cold enough here in Sydney to warrant a knitted hat (well, that is my opinion).
The wool is called “scrumptious aran” by fyberspates. It is a lovely soft yarn which knitted up easily. The pattern itself isn’t too bad, but the cowl tends to sag like a cowl, so it really doesn’t keep your neck warm. If I am going to cover my neck up, I want it covered. Overall it was a nice little project to practice some cables, which I haven’t done for quite awhile and I am happy with the result.
